Self -Evaluation Speech Critique

Self Evaluation Speech Critique

Throughout this entire course there were many different challenges. I had to determine which template to choose from that would better fit with my idea, choose the style that I wanted to present in, and the most difficult was choosing the best topic to talk about. Most people would say that they improved just because they have gotten better with their delivery and their work. I believe that I have significantly improved because I have gotten so much better with aligning my work together.

What I mean by that is when I choose a topic I think about all the elements that need to go with that particular topic. The style I should approach, the color scheme I should embed, the template I should choose, the word font I should use to blend in with the template, and all the pictures and videos I should choose to include in the presentation.

I tend to think very strategically when planning my work out thoroughly. The best aspect I have learned from these courses this year is to be patient with my work. It is best to let the ideas come to you rather than force the idea. The work that you do is always best when you let the idea come to you and think more on what all you can include to make your work better.

I have also gotten better with my stage fright. I have become more comfortable with speaking to an audience rather than just letting someone read my work. My speaking skills have become more fluent and more proud, I could say. I tend to react more with the audience, and I am able to answer questions without feeling tense. It also prepared me for the future which made me take it more seriously.

Although I have learned many elements on my own, I have also learned many different things from former students and their unique work. It was a great experience being able to learn from other students and apply some of their techniques to my own work.

My two favorite assignments of this year were the Yara Shahidi speaker analysis and the Wild Card assignments. I enjoyed working on those particular assignments because I was able to go based off of what I already knew. The work was much more familiar which allowed me to put more work into it. The videos, pictures, and information included was mostly from my own knowledge.

My spring semester was very challenging for me when it came down to turning in assignments. It was very difficult to take all Mass Comp. classes and keep up with the assignment dates with everything else that I had going in my life. I definitely can say that this spring semester has taught and prepared me to better manage my time in the future. Although many of my assignments were rushed, I had very good topics and interactivity in them. Some of the rushed assignments were some of my best ones.

But summing up my claim, I have learned many different elements this semester and it will improve the more and more I do it.
